Motivational Letter
Remseck, 11.01.2018

Dear Sir or Madam,

hereby I would like to introduce myself as a candidate for a semester abroad in Poland.
I am currently studying Europalehramt Sek I (Ba.) in the first semester with the subjects English and History. I chose these studies because I knew a semester abroad was mandatory. I think that studies abroad can be beneficial for language dvelopment, cultural understanding and a broadening of ones's horizon.
The reasons which made me choose Poland as my destination are the following : My mother is Polish and she spoke only Polish to me, so it became my mother tongue, we also visit our relatives every year or so, but never had the chance to really get immersed in the language, the culture of Poland as I wish.
What adds up to that is that me and my girlfriend are raising our son biligually, who was born on the 2.2.2017, talking exclusively Polish to him. With the semester abroad I would not only be able to connect with my cultural origin, but I could give my son and my girlfriend the opportunity to get to know some things I hold quite dear. If my son would have to go to a Kindergarten for half a year it would most probably be easier for him in Poland than in a country with a language he does not speak.
The Jagiellonian University in Kraków would be a personal dream for me because of its renowned historical faculty. Because of my proficiency in Polish I would not only be restricted to lectures in English or German. The Pedagogical University of Kraków, of course, should also prove as an chance I would gladly take, as it would be very interesting to see, how the formation of teachers in other European countries is realized. I have to admit, that the beauty of Kraków plays a part in my decision as well, and of course, its relevance from a historical viewpoint.
In conclusion ; a semester abroad in Poland would be the chance for me to deepen my knowledge about the polish language, culture, history and academic life  ; for my family, to have a experience not normally possible, to also learn the language and culture of Poland in the best possible setting.

I am looking forward to hear from you.

Yours sincerely

Joseph Fynn Eaton

Learning to write and speak a foreign language correctly requires having somebody to correct your grammar and usage errors. Otherwise you may learn a substandard version of the language with deep-rooter mistakes and incorrect usages that are hard to get rid of.

A popular and tried-and-true way to learn languages involves writing texts in a foreign language on a daily basis and reading them aloud to a native speaker, who will correct any mistakes.

Native speakers or language professionals will review your text and correct all errors of style or grammar free of charge. You can also request a sound recording of the spoken version of your corrected text that will let you hear the subtleties of pronunciation by a native speaker.
